Tumalo Road -
From the Skyliner's Sno-Play parking lot, continue up Skyliner's Road and it will curve to the right after about 0.1 mile, turn to gravel, and cross a bridge. Turn left at the bridge onto the gravel road, FS 4603. Stay on this road for 2.25 miles, riding through the area burned in the 1980 Bridge Creek Fire. At the end of FS 4603 the road crosses Tumalo Creek and climbs to the right to Tumalo Falls trail. Leave your bicycle in the parking lot and take a short walk to a spectacular view of 90 foot high Tumalo Falls. (Note: Bicycles are not allowed on the Bridge Creek trail and the Tumalo Falls trail is closed to downhill bicycle traffic) Retrace your route to return to the trailhead. This ride has just about everything- towering rimrock, Tumalo Creek and Tumalo Falls and the sights of a regenerating forest after a fire made this an interesting ride for anyone. The good tread and easy "hills" make this a very nice introduction to mountain biking for the beginner.
Directions from Bend: Drive or ride about 9 miles west on Skyliner's Road to the Skyliner's Sno-Play parking lot on your left and park here.
