Skookum Lake Trail -
This is a scenic trail to Skookum Lake with views of Mount Hood. Skookum Lake offers excellent fishing during the summer months. There are campsites available at Skookum Lake.
The Skokum Lake Trail begins in a shelter wood, then enters a stand of true fir. The trail crosses through some rocky open areas and wearing boots with ankle support is suggested. Diamond Peak is visible to the north. Watch for pikas playing in the rocks and look for an abundance of wildflowers that grow in the wet areas along the lake shore. The lake is 10 acres in size and is 20 feet deep, has a good population of brook trout and elk can be seen browsing nearby. The trail is steep and would be a challenge to experienced mountain bikers.
