Harralson Horse Camp -
Harralson Horse Camp is located approximately 35 miles northeast of Oakridge at an elevation of 5,600 feet. This campground has 6 sites with trailer space, fire rings, and horse facilities. Toilets are available but there is no potable water. There is a RV Sanitation Station nearby. This is a fairly undeveloped horse camp. There are no corrals, hitching rails and water is not available at the camp. Drinking water can be obtained at North Waldo Campground and horses can be watered near North Waldo off the Waldo Lake Trail (#3590). Harralson is a good staging area for those wanting to explore the trails in or around the Three Sisters and Waldo Lake Wilderness areas. The trail around Waldo Lake is another nice ride, but be aware that stock is not allowed in the other Waldo Lake Campgrounds. Help us protect the trees at Harralson by using a high line picket, hobbles or picket stake. Avoid tying your horse to trees. If a nervous horse paws while tied, hobble it to protect vegetation, trees and roots. The mosquito population is high from June to mid-August and can be quite bothersome, so be prepared.
