Foster Lake -
Located in the beautiful Willamette Valley on the South Santiam River, Foster Lake provides boating, swimming and picnicking opportunities. The Foster Dam and Lake regulates the flow from the nearby Green Peter dam. The dam provides flood control, irrigation, power generation, recreation and improved navigation downstream.
Near the lake is the Corps of Engineers maintained Andrew S. Wiley Park is a day use park, which provides access to the South Santiam River below Foster Dam. The park is open year-round and includes flush and chemical toilets, picnic tables, barbecue grills, and a paved boat ramp. Also nearby is Shea Point, a privately-owned recreation area with a viewpoint and day-use area, which is located off Highway 20 on the south side of Foster Lake. Finally, several Linn County Parks maintained areas are also located near the lake: Gedney Creek Park- boat ramp, Lewis Creek Park- day-use area, Sunnyside Park- campground and day-use area, Calkins Ramp- boat ramp.
