Cristom Vineyards -
At Cristom, we often identify the wines from Jessie Vineyard by a certain savory quality that is akin to rare beef, or a floral quality, like violet or lavender. Jessie always seems to be a deep-dark-fruited wine with plenty of structure and a supple texture. It often displays an extra layer of flavor that distinguishes it from Eileen, Marjorie or Louise Vineyards. The vineyard encompasses more terrain, lower to higher, than any other site at Cristom. Jessie Vineyard is comprised of five distinct soil types; Witzel, Nekia, Jory, Ritner and Gelderman which certainly contributes to its complexity. This forbiddingly steep site is one that continuously challenges our vineyard crew.
